Obama admin’s story and reporters story don’t jive…not the first time.

From E&P via theSanFranChron:

The San Francisco Chronicle has accused the White House of lying about a recent spat with one of its reporters. Last week, the Chronicle reported that the White House had threatened to ban Chronicle reporter Carla Marinucci from participating in the White House pool after Marinucci, a member of the print pool, used her cell phone to record a group of Bradley Manning supporters heckling Pres. Obama at a recent San Francisco fundraiser.

According to the Chronicle’s first write-up of the spat, the White House press office threatened to ban Marinucci from the print pool during San Francisco events for using her cell phone, and forbade the paper from discussing the incident. A day later, the White House told reporters that the Chronicle’s allegations were “not true.”

Chronicle editor Ward Bushee wasted no time hitting back at the White House.

“Sadly, we expected the White House to respond in this manner based on our experiences yesterday,” Bushee wrote on Saturday. “It is not a truthful response. It follows a day of off-the-record exchanges with key people in the White House communications office who told us they would remove our reporter, then threatened retaliation to Chronicle and Hearst reporters if we reported on the ban, and then recanted to say our reporter might not be removed after all.”

I am calling Bullshit on this one Obama…this isn’t the first time you all have threatened a reporter w/cutting them off. Does the Orlando Sentinel story about reporter Scott Powers, who was made to wait in a closet, remind you all in the White House of anything?? Anything at all?? What a Bush-league move…as in George W. Bush.

If you can’t take the hecklers and the daily bullshit, get another job dude. It goes with the territory.

I am a..brown Cali bitch that is quite the opinionated, political, pain-in-the-ass, in your face kinda girl that also loves baseball and music to a fault. Two things are infinite: the universe and human stupidity; and I'm not sure about the universe.--Albert Einstein-*

KUDO’S to you Dusty, I thought that I was the only one who saw that article. As with everything this administration seems to do, this is no surprise. Another item is the wiping of the photos of bin Laden from the internet. The photo[s] may have been gruesome, but it sure would go a long ways in the conformation dept. But that’s to be expected from this bunch of clowns. Talk about not being able to shoot straight. We need a complete overhaul in that there capitol of the people. Love the cartoon, very to the point.

    • Dusty says:

Thank you Norman, I was really pissed when I got the Editor&Publisher email about this crap. The SFChron isn’t laying down for this bs either..they have published numerous stories on the situation that occurred and how the WH is trying to paint it..actually lie about it.

  2. Gwendolyn H. Barry says:

It’s about re-election. And the confusion laid out for those of us who would search for the fuller story…. that’s just as you say, Bush-league. Right on Dusty.

    • Dusty says:

It’s all about being re-elected for The Big O. He is going to Ground Zero Thursday and you can’t tell me that isn’t a purely political motivation.

  3. jackjodell53 says:

Well done, Dusty. This President, like his predecessors, needs to remember that heckling and differing viewpoints DO indeed come with the territory!

    • Dusty says:

Exactly Jack! And we thought The Shrub was thinned skinned. The Big O is really pushing the envelope on so many things lately..its quite pathetic to watch.

  5. Krell says:

Covering up the protests and the people that are going to ask the hard questions is doing themselves and the American people an injustice.

Obama and his inner circle handlers seem to favor appearance over the awkwardness of having to answer to this. It is pathetic but not unexpected.

  6. scaredstiff says:

Obama cannot seem to abide anything to do with Manning. A real sore spot for the administration. From things I’ve read, he feels the same way about Wikileaks or any one who is a whistle blower. Too damn bad! Kudos to anyone who forces the truth to the American people. Sure it’s all about reelection. He’s one rung of the ladder above a car salesman or real-estate broker. He’s a Politician as they all are in Washington. How we treat Manning is a National disgrace and Obama bears the burden for this.
